Eden High School

A group of students at Eden High School in Ontario are using their passion for plants to retrofit their school’s old greenhouse and begin growing crops to feed their community.

A group of students at Eden High School in Ontario formed a greenhouse club because of their passion and interest in plants. But their school’s greenhouse was quite old, hadn’t been used in several years, and needed repairs to function properly. The greenhouse club is researching and implementing a plan to repair the greenhouse and make it energy efficient so that it once again can be a space for students to learn about horticulture and grow food to support their school community.

People Impact:

Eden’s greenhouse club has slowly been growing, with 16 students and teachers now working on the project! They also have engaged over a hundred other students and teachers at their school and hope to engage the whole school through tours of the greenhouse once the repairs are completed.
