Description

While a rare sight nowadays, buffalo, or bison as Western biologists refer to them, have been a fixture of Canadian Prairies for as long as history can recall. In addition to being vital to the Indigenous population of the Prairies, buffalo also served as a means of grassland management. As we begin to examine more ways to achieve Net-Zero, it is worth looking to the buffalo and their methods of existing with the prairies they call home for inspiration.
