Description

Students explore methane's role in climate change and investigate anaerobic digestion as a natural biological process and emerging climate solution. Through video, guided article study, and analysis of a real Canadian case study (Semiahmoo RNG Project), students examine both the benefits and limitations of methane capture technology. This lesson reinforces understanding of matter cycling through ecosystems while developing critical, systems-based thinking about climate action.
