Description

Students will explore how selective breeding in ruminants (cattle, sheep, goats) affects agricultural productivity and environmental impact, with focus on reducing enteric methane emissions. Through a hands-on breeding-simulation activity, students will model how trait selection works across generations and understand the complex trade-offs in agriculture: productivity vs. sustainability, methane reduction vs. milk yield, efficiency vs. resilience.
