Getting Started
- Access the booklet for the N:OW for Net-Zero Energy Audit Challenge for the full instructions for the activity.
- Create a team! Spread the word to friends, peers, teachers, entire classes, a club-you name it! Everyone is encouraged to join to divvy up the work and make it easier.
- Delegate tasks as a team. There are many sections to the audit – it would be best to break up into smaller groups and divide the sections amongst yourselves. Make sure each group has read through their section’s Reference Sheet and Checklist, and printed out the Fill-In Handout.
- Start collecting! Each section has its own dedicated checklist of energy data to investigate and collect. You can use the printable Fill-In Handouts to record your data, and then come back to this online tool and input it all in. Once you submit your audit data into the tool it will create a summary report for you. You can use this report to present your findings to your principal, school board, and/or an engineer consultant to advocate for a greener school building!
