Harbour View High School

Students in the climate action club at Harbour View High School in New Brunswick are installing solar panels on their school’s roof to provide renewable energy and power savings.

Students at Harbour View High School in New Brunswick have been doing environmental advocacy for many years. Their climate action club has built hydroponics systems and gardens, written books, and hosted workshops. Their project this year is installing solar panels on their school’s roof and tracking the emissions reduction and cost-savings from the implementation. They hope this tangible project can serve as an education tool for students and teachers in their school on climate solutions and the potential for local impact.

People Impact:

A dedicated group of 8 students and teachers form the school’s eco club which is working directly on this project. They have engaged the other 900 students and 70 teachers in the school through educational assemblies and announcements and engaged an additional 300 community members at a year end climate event!
