Micro Wind Turbines

Description

Newfoundland & Labrador has some of Canada's strongest wind resources, yet most households and communities still rely on expensive imported electricity. This lesson explores how micro wind turbines, small-scale turbines designed for individual homes, schools, or communities, could provide clean, local power while reducing emissions and energy costs. Students will investigate how wind turbines work, evaluate their feasibility for NL communities, and propose a micro wind turbine project for their school or area.

Lesson Type: Literacy
