Description

This lesson introduces students to high-speed rail and its role in the transition to a low-carbon transportation system. Students will explore how high-speed rail contributes to sustainability, examine real-world examples from around the globe, and consider both current and future applications of this technology. Students will work in pairs to complete a case study on a region with a successful high-speed rail system. The lesson concludes with a class discussion on the feasibility of bringing high-speed rail to their local context.
